Founded on 23rd April 1985, the Saskatoon Meewasin Rotary Club was Chartered on May 13, 1985, and is Saskatoon's  only Morning Rotary Club. The members of the new club decided that Meewasin was an appropriate name for the fourth Rotary Club in Saskatoon. 'Meewasin' was the name given to the South Saskatchewan river valley by its first inhabitants, the Cree and the name means "happy, lovely, beautiful"  

Members meet at the Hilton Garden Inn, 22^nd St. and 1^st Ave., Monday mornings at 7:00. Our members are involved in many community service projects at local, national and international levels working along with Rotarians and Non-Rotarians worldwide to help build Goodwill and Peace in the world. Worldwide, approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 31,000 Rotary clubs located in 167 countries.

In 2010 we celeberated our 25th Anniversary. Our continual commitment to our community and the world includes:

• Service and financial support to the Rotary Restorative Action Program within the high schools of Saskatoon
• Furnishing a satellite kitchen at the newly rebuilt and dedicated Oliver Lodge,
• Replacing all tables at the Jubilee Residence to improve accessibility by residents
• Revamping the family games room at Ronald McDonald House
• Support of the M.D. Ambulance Drug Safety program for public school students
• Reading program at St Michael Community School within the inner city
• SIAST bursaries
• Financial support to projects in Peru, Guatemala and Africa
